I've always wanted to wear glasses (but never had to when I was younger) and liked preppy clothes, knee high socks, plaids and pleated skirts (as you can clearly see in this post). I am secretly kind of a geek myself and I also married one, so I was happy to see the birth of the 'geek chic' trend and that it is still going strong this season. The runway shows of Marc by Marc Jacobs and J.Crew featured this trend and lots of models and celebrities are fans of school uniform inspired clothes.
Apart from the ubiquitous thick-rimmed glasses, 'geek chic' is all about knee-high socks, preppy blouses, bow ties, Peter Pan collars and brogues - basically just chanelling your inner schoolgirl! I am sure I will be looking at the below photos for inspiration this season - especially now that I have to wear glasses when using a computer (you have no idea how much joy it brought me choosing a pair of frames!).
